The Intha's have lived for years in stilted villages upon the lake, and make their livelihood fishing and growing crops on unique floating gardens. On the final day of your trip you tour the lake by private boat. In the afternoon visit the Phaung Daw Oo pagoda, a local weaving village and a teak monastery where the monk's have trained resident cat's to jump through hoops. This morning, leave Mandalay for a scenic two-hour drive to the former British hill station of Pyin Oo Lwin (also known as Maymyo) located on a plateau 1,000m above sea level. Many reminders of the colonial era are still present in Pyin Oo Lwin, including brick and timber houses. Pyin Oo Lwin is home for many ethnic tribes as well as a considerable numbers of Nepalese and Hindu who migrated during the British occupation, famous for its climate weather. Enjoy a traditional horse cart and carriage ride through town. Stop at the Botanical Gardens, 432 acres of leafy gardens home to a diverse mix of botanical species from around the world. The Gardens were established by Sir Harcourt Butler, former Governor of Burma. Continue to the local market to see the multicolor flowers and vegetables on sale. Overnight in Pyin Oo Lwin.

After breakfast at hotel, transfer to the railway station for a 6-hour train journey to Hsipaw. The scenic journey crosses the famous Gokteik Viaduct which spans a 300-meter deep gorge in the Shan mountains. Lunch-box on board. After breakfast visit Kengtung’s local market. This daily market is visited by villagers from the surrounding area who come to sell their products and barter for goods. Visiting the market, you will see minority hilltribes in their traditional dresses. Then, depart by road to Pin Tauk village, the starting point of today’s trek. Set off on foot, trekking 45 minutes to 1 hour to the Akha minority village of Hwe Lon. Spend some time in the village and interacting with the locals to discover more about their unique customs and daily lifestyle. After a picnic lunch, resume trekking to an Children in Ann Village MyanmarAnn Village perched on the slopes of a hill (approximately 30 minutes). The Ann minority is known for their traditional black dress and blackened teeth. After walking around the village, stop at Lone Tree Hill for panoramic views of the city and continue on to Kengtung. Dinner at local restaurant.

Day 3: MYANMAR ADVENTURE TOURS: Kengtung Trekking Tours ( B, L, D )

After breakfast, drive in the direction of Tachileik, along the Thai border. After 45 minutes, switch vehicles and continue the drive in the back of a local pick-up truck (approximately 30 minutes) Drive up the hills to visit four neighboring Akha villages where you will learn more about their unique culture and traditions. Some of these villages practice an interesting blend of three religions: Buddhism, Christianity, and animism (spirit worship) Picnic lunch en-route. This afternoon, continue to the Mong Kwan region. Visit a village of the Loi minority, as well as having the chance to discover the traditions of the Li Shaw and Khun communities. Return to Kengtung in the late afternoon. Dinner at local restaurant.

After breakfast, begin your trekking adventure. Today’s trek passes through Lut Pin Village, Shar Pin Village on the way to Nan The’ Le Te. The first 2.5 hours passes through Shan scenery and Shar Pin and Lut Pin villages. There are plenty of chances to walk around and interact with the friendly locals as well as to observe their daily life which has remained unchanged over generations- relying on the land to live. After lunch, resume your journey to Nan The’ Le Te village (1 ½ hour trek). It is a tranquil and picturesque village of the Pa-O hilltribe. This morning, there is time to visit around the village and see the morning farming activities as they work on crops such as wheat and ginger. Then, resume your journey with a 2.5 hour trek to Kon Hla village via Baw Hnin Kone and Htun Kom Villages. Lunch en-route. After lunch, trek 1.5 hours through Pauk Tu Village to Htee Thein, your overnight stop. The route is filled with the panoramic views of the Shan Mountain Range and surrounded by unspoiled natural beauty. Upon arrival, visit around the village and rest of the day at leisure. Depart Yangon this morning for the scenic drive to Bago, the capital of the 6th century Mon kingdom. Your visit in Bago begins at Shwethalyaung Temple which houses a beautiful 55-meter long reclining Buddha. Continue to the Mon-style Shwemawdaw Pagoda, one of the most venerated in Myanmar and whose 114 meter spire is taller than the one at Shwedagon Pagoda. Before departing Bago, visit the well-restored former palace, Kambozathadi, which was the marvel of Asia when it was originally built in the 16th century. This afternoon, arrive at Kyaikhtiyo base camp. Travel by local, open-air truck along a winding road (45 minutes) where you be dropped off at the junction camp to travel the final distance to Golden Rock on foot. The uphill trek is along a paved trekking path and offers great views of the surrounding area. For an easier alternative, four porters can carry you uphill in a specially-made sedan chair allowing you to enjoy the views without all of the hard work! (extra cost not included) After about one hour of trekking, reach the Golden Rock. A huge boulder covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff, Golden Rock is one of Myanmar's main pilgrimage sites. The pagoda here is said to hold a hair of the Buddha and Buddhist from across the country come here to pay homage. (NOTE: depending on your selected accommodation, you may either do the walk this evening or tomorrow morning. Guests staying near the Junction will walk in the morning, whilst those staying on the mountain top will do the walk this evening.) Overnight near Golden Rock.

AMAZING ADVENTURE TRIP TO NORTH OF THAILAND

In spite of Chiang Mai being the second largest city in Thailand and the modern capital of the north, the friendliness of the people, the vibrant night bazaar, the interesting old town and the international feel never seems to fail to captivate travellers. Day 2: Thailand Overland Tours to the North: Chiang Mai culture exploration (B/-/-)

The capital of the north, Chiang Mai has rich historical and cultural heritage which is still evident in the architecture with over 300 temples spreading in and around. Today we visit the most famous one set on Doi Suthep Mountain and embark on a walk leading us to Wat Prathat Temple near the summit. At an elevation of over 1,000 m, the temple grounds affords a panoramic view over the surrounding countryside. The tranquil town of Chiang Mai has been always noted for the exquisite handicrafts made of the hill tribe people's traditional wares. Upon leaving Doi Suthep we set off on a short drive to the neighbouring villages of Sankampaeng and Borsarng to see the various cottages industries including silk weaving, wood carving, silver ware and umbrellas making. We follow this with a visit to the old and new parts of the town featuring the great diversity. As a highlight of this evening , we visit the vibrant night market which is full of local treasures.

Day 3: Thailand Northern Adventure Tours: Chiang Mai - Pai - Mae Hong Son - Adventure packages (B/-/-)

The exciting adventure begins as we depart the town and drive through the breathtaking mountain landscape to Mae Hong Son. Along the way we make stop over at a hot stream nearby Ban Papae before we head towards Pai. There is plenty to see in this beautiful area , some of which are the Lisu Hilltribe Village, the Tam Lod Cave, the Lahu Hilltribe Village. We follow this with a trip to the Fish Cave, where thousands of carps live an undisturbed life. On arrival in Mae Hong Son we stroll around the town to soak up the pleasant climate and catch our first glimpse. The Burmese influence is prevalent as this town is bordered by the Union of Myanmar to the north and the west.

Upon leaving the town we set off on a rough drive by pick-up truck to the Karen hill tribe village of Baan Nai Soi. At this small village we enjoy a short walk through the unspoiled forest to the Padong hilltribe village. This ethnic group still retains their old age cultural traditions as most of women attempt to have long neck by wearing numerous brass rings around their neck from an early age. We board a truck again for a short drive to Sop Soi and enjoy a longtail boat for a Mae Hong Son in Thailandleisurely trip downstream on the Pai River which also provides us a taste of the tranquil countryside and an interesting view of rural life close up.

Day 5: Thailand Northern Adventure Tours: Mae Hong Son - Chiang Dao Sightseeing tours (B/-/-)

The sightseeing tour of Mae Hong Son would not be complete without a visit to Wat Jong Kham and Wat Jong Klang, just some of the town's most famous Burmese style monastaries. The first structure was constructed around 200 year ago by the Shan people whilst Wat Jong Klang houses an old glass painting and many wood carvings which depict the various lives of Buddha. A next stop is Doi Kong Moo, which dominates the town and therefore affords a wonderful view of surrounding areas. We then travel by roads back to Chiang Mai. The journey is long , but we can make stop as we please, to stretch our legs and shoot some wonderful pictures.

Day 6: Thailand Northern Adventure Tours: Chiang Dao - Thaton - Chiang Rai - Elephant camp experiences (B/-/-)

Today we have plenty of time exploring the hidden region of Chiang Dao. The first stop is an elephant camp set in lush green jungle area. Here, we have a chance to see the many colossal animals performing their amazing feats of strength and skill at the command of the mahouts. The impressive journey continues to Thaton, a sleepy riverside hamlet by the Mae Kok River. At this small village we board a longtail cruising downstream to Chiang Rai. This river trip takes anything from three to five hour depending the season. No matter how long it will take us, it is still a Chiang Dao cave in Thailandmemorable experience as we pass by the breathtaking mountain landscapes and see some hill villages of the Lahu and Karen People. We cross few rapids along the way before arriving in Chiang Rai. This tranquil town is our base for exploration on our forthcoming day.

Day 7: Thailand Northern Adventure Tours: Chiang Rai - Golden Triangle - Chiang Mai - Religion & relic trips (B/-/-)

The royal capital of the ancient Lanna Kingdom, Chiang Saen is nestled on the Mekong riverbank which is now the border between Thailand and Laos. Today we travel by roads to Chiang Saen and visit some major sights including Wat Phrathat Jom Kitti, Wat Chedi Luang and a nearby museum. The journey continues towards the famous Golden Triangle in which powerful warlords have fought for control the opium trade. Here we have time to stroll around and make a stop at the opium museum. The display of pictures and documents feature the opium story dating back to the early last century onwards. Afterwards we make our way through the verdant and rugged mountain scenery to Mae Sai Town which now becomes a trading hub of Thailand and Burma. There is not much to see in this town but it is till very interesting to catch a look of Burma side. We travel by roads back to Chiang Mai. The drive is long , but views are fantastic.

We visit this complex and drive through the many vibrant streets of China Town to one of the most significant temples in Bangkok. The Wat Pho houses a gigantic gold plated Reclining Buddha. Day 3: Thailand Legendary Siam’s Adventure trail: Bangkok - Ayuthaya – Phitsanulok - Culture boat trip ( B/-/-)

Heading out of the town we drive to Bang Pa In which was served as the summer palace for many Thai monarchs from the 17th century. This structure has a captivating collection of marvelous pavilions in a variety of Thai, Chinese, Italian and Victorian architectural styles. We then board a boat for a leisurely trip to Ayuthaya, one of the world heritage listed sites. On arrival we visit the largest temple of Wat Phra Sisanphet, which was used as the Royal Temple Palace by several kings. The following sight is Wat Chai Wattanaram built by King Prasathong in 1630 with a huge prang surrounded by smaller ones to symbolize mount Meru, the abode of the heavenly gods. We make our way to Phisanulok past the scenic countryside.

The next stop is Si Satchanalai where various ancient monuments are still standing. An early morning start to drive towards Chiang Rai. Along the way we stop in Phayao Town to visit Wat Si Kom Kan. On arrival in Chiang Rai we embark on a longtail boat for a thrilling trip upstream on the Mae Kok River, passing through many breathtaking mountain landscape to a Karen hilltribe village. This ethnic group is originated from Burma, but had settled there long time ago, forming the largest tribal population in northern Thailand. Upon leaving this village we embark on a walk through the jungle to the Yao and Akha Hilltribes. They still retain their age old cultural traditions and are recognisably distinct from each other by their dress. We drive back in town and spend the remainder of day on own exploration.

The royal capital of the ancient Lanna Kingdom, Chiang Saen is nestled on the Mekong riverbank which is now the border between Thailand and Laos. Today we travel by roads to Chiang Saen and visit some major sights including Wat Phrathat Jom Kitti, Wat Chedi Luang and a nearby museum. The journey continues towards the famous Golden Triangle in which powerful warlords have fought for control the opium trade. Here we have time to stroll around and make a stop at the opium museum. The display of pictures and documents feature the opium story dating back to the early last century onwards. A next top is Mae Sai Town which now becomes a trading hub of Thailand and Burma. There is not much to see in this town but it is till very interesting to catch a look of Burma side. Upon leaving this site we make our way through the verdant and rugged mountain scenery to back to Chiang Dao. This tranquil town is set by the bank of the Ping River.

Today we have plenty of time exploring the hidden region of Chiang Dao. The first stop is an elephant camp set in lush green jungle area. Here, we have a chance to see the many colossal animals performing their amazing feats of strength and skill at the command of the mahouts. The mountainous region around Chiang Dao is also home of a wide array of hill tribe groups. Today we enjoy exhilarating elephant trek through the neighboring jungle, past bamboo trees and Chiang Dao thailandhanging creepers upwards a remote village of Lisu People. This ethnic group is originated in Tibet and usually settled in high mountain side. The relaxing atmosphere comes as we board a bamboo raft trip along the Ping River. We drive back to Chiang Mai with stopover at Mae Sa to catch a look at the famous orchid farm.

Check into your hotel late morning.

This morning, transfer to the banks of the Ayeyarwady River to catch the express boat to Bagan. The River is difficult to navigate because of constantly moving sandbanks and, particularly between December and March, the ferry may move very slowly. The trip normally takes a full day.
The scenery along the Ayeyarwady is timeless – oxen working the fields, water buffalo wallowing in the mud, golden pagoda spires, fishermen, villagers bathing in the river and, of course, every type of boat and river craft that you can imagine. Arrive in Bagan, transfer to Hotel.

Continue by boat to visit Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries on the lake. One can see ancient Buddha statues which are more than 200 years old.
